We are currently partnering with a revolutionary startup that will be as transformational for the storage industry as VMware was for compute. That said, they are no more a storage company than VMware is a server manufacturer. With exponential data growth and the advent of cloud computing, storage is becoming a transient resource. Our client's solution manages data through metadata, creating an abstraction layer and providing a namespace that transcends the physical storage that holds it. It does not rip and replace a customer's prior storage investment, and it also helps them avoid vendor lock-in extortion moving forward. The leadership running the company has led startups to billion dollar exits before, so they have the experience and the track record. The product is already GA, they have several existing logos signed up, and they just recently closed their first 7-figure deal.
In order to build on this momentum, they are currently looking to hire a Presales Engineer in Socal to focus on the M&E vertical, as well as a Federal Account Executive in the DC Metro area. They already have the coinciding sales team partner in place in each region (AE in place in Socal, SE in place in Federal). They have activity going on in both M&E (poc's in process w/ Dreamworks & Sony) and Federal (high level of interest from In-Q-Tel, channel partners bringing them into deals), so these new hires will be walking into some existing pipeline already and not starting from scratch. Each of these roles will be paid solid base salaries, with extremely lucrative commission plans (base commission percentage is higher than most companies' accelerators) and a substantial pre-ipo equity package at a very low strike price.
